Love To Man

Is of God - 1Jo_4:7;
1Jn 4:7  Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God, and everyone who loves has been born of God, and knows God.

Commanded by God - 1Jo_4:21;
1Jn 4:21  And we have this commandment from Him, that he who loves God should love his brother also.

Commanded by Christ - Joh_13:34; Joh_15:12; 1Jo_3:23;
Joh 13:34  I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. As I have loved you, you should also love one another.
Joh 15:12  This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.
1Jn 3:23  And this is His commandment, that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as He gave us commandment.

After the example of Christ - Joh_13:34; Joh_15:12; Eph_5:2;
Joh 13:34  I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. As I have loved you, you should also love one another.
Joh 15:12  This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.
Eph 5:2  And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us, and has given Himself for us as an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savor.

Taught by God - 1Th_4:9;
1Th 4:9  But regarding brotherly love, you do not need that I write to you, for you yourselves are taught by God to love one another.

Faith works by - Gal_5:6;
Gal 5:6  For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any strength, but faith working through love.

A fruit of the Spirit - Gal_5:22; Col_1:8;
Gal 5:22  But the fruit of the Spirit is: love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith, 23  meekness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
Col 1:8  he also having shown your love in the Spirit to us.

Purity of heart leads to - 1Pe_1:22;
1Pe 1:22  Purifying your souls in the obedience of the truth through the Spirit to unfeigned love of the brothers, love one another fervently out of a pure heart, 23 having been born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, through the living Word of God, and abiding forever.

Explained - 1Co_13:4-7;
1Co 13:4  Charity has patience, is kind; charity is not envious, is not vain, is not puffed up;

Is an active principle - 1Th_1:3; Heb_6:10;
1Th 1:3  remembering without ceasing your work of faith and labor of love and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father,
Heb 6:10  For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

Is an abiding principle - 1Co_13:8; 1Co_13:13;
1Co 13:8  Charity never fails. But if there are prophecies, they will be abolished; if tongues, they shall cease; if knowledge, it will be abolished.
1Co 13:13  And now faith, hope, charity, these three remain; but the greatest of these is charity.

Is the second great commandment - Mat_22:37-39;
Mat 22:37  Jesus said to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. 38  This is the first and great commandment. 39  And the second is like it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

Is the end of the commandment - 1Ti_1:5;
1Ti 1:5  But the end of the commandment is love out of a pure heart, and a good conscience, and faith unfeigned,

Supernatural gifts are nothing without - 1Co_13:1; 1Co_13:2;
1Co 13:1  Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I have become as sounding brass or a tinkling cymbal.
1Co 13:2  And though I have prophecies, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so as to move mountains, and do not have charity, I am nothing.

The greatest sacrifices are nothing without - 1Co_13:3;
1Co 13:3  And though I give out all my goods to feed the poor, and though I deliver my body to be burned, and have not charity, I am profited nothing.

Especially enjoined upon ministers - 1Ti_4:12; 2Ti_2:22;
1Ti 4:12  Let no one despise your youth, but be an example of the believers, in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
2Ti 2:22  But flee youthful lusts, and follow righteousness, faith, love, peace, with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

1Ti 2:15  But she will be kept safe through childbearing, if they continue in faith and love and holiness with sensibleness.
Heb 13:1  Let brotherly love continue.

Provoke each other to - 2Co_8:7; 2Co_9:2; Heb_10:24;
2Co 8:7  But even as you abound in everything, in faith, and in word, and in knowledge, and in all earnestness, and in your love to us; you should abound in this grace also.
2Co 9:2  For I know your eagerness, of which I boast to Macedonia on your behalf, that Achaia was ready a year ago; and your zeal has aroused the greater number.
Heb 10:24  and let us consider one another to provoke to love and to good works,

Be sincere in - Rom_12:9; 2Co_6:6; 2Co_8:8; 1Jo_3:18;

Strangers - Lev_19:34; Deu_10:19;

Deu 10:19  Therefore love the stranger, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.

Enemies - Exo_23:4; Exo_23:5; 2Ki_6:22; Mat_5:44; Rom_12:14; Rom_12:20; 1Pe_3:9;

SHOULD BE EXHIBITED, IN

Ministering to the wants of others - Mat_25:35; Heb_6:10;
Mat 25:35  For I was hungry, and you gave me food; I was thirsty, and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger, and you took Me in;

Visiting the sick, &c - Job_31:16-22; Jam_1:27;
Job 31:16  If I have withheld the poor from their desire, or have caused the eyes of the widow to fail, 17  or have eaten my bit alone, and the fatherless has not eaten of it, 18  for from my youth he grew up with me, as with a father, and from my mother's womb I guided her; 19  if I have seen any perish for lack of clothing, or there was no covering for the needy; 20  if his loins have not blessed me, and he warmed himself with the fleece of my flock; 21  if I have lifted up my hand against the fatherless when I watched over my help in the gate; 22  then let my arm fall from the shoulder blade, and let my arm be broken from the elbow.
Jas 1:27  Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, to visit orphans and widows in their afflictions, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.

Sympathising - Rom_12:15; 1Co_12:26;
Rom 12:15  Rejoice with rejoicing ones, and weep with weeping ones;
1Co 12:26  And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; if one member is glorified, all the members rejoice with it.

Supporting the weak - Gal_6:2; 1Th_5:14;
Gal 6:2  Bear one another's burdens, and so you will fulfill the Law of Christ.
1Th 5:14  Now we exhort you, brothers, warn those who are unruly, comfort the faint-hearted, support the weak, be patient toward all.

Covering the faults of others - Pro_10:12; 1Pe_4:8;

Necessary to true happiness - Pro_15:17;

Joh 13:35  By this all shall know that you are My disciples, if you have love toward one another.

Spiritual life - 1Jo_3:14;
1Jn 3:14  We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brothers. He who does not love his brother abides in death.

Is the fulfilling of the law - Rom_13:8-10; Gal_5:14; Jam_2:8;
Rom 13:8  Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves another has fulfilled the Law. 9  For: "Do not commit adultery; do not murder; do not steal; do not bear false witness; do not lust;" and if there is any other commandment, it is summed up in this word, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." 10  Love works no ill to its neighbor, therefore love is the fulfilling of the Law.
Gal 5:14  For all the Law is fulfilled in one word, even in this, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself."
Jas 2:8  If you fulfill the royal Law according to the Scripture, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself," you do well.

Psa 133:2  It is like the precious ointment on the head that ran down on the beard, Aaron's beard, that went down to the mouth of his garments;

Is a bond of union - Col_2:2;
Col 2:2  that their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and to all riches of the full assurance of the understanding, to the full knowledge of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;

Is the bond of perfectness - Col_3:14;
Col 3:14  And above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfectness.

Hypocrites, devoid of - 1Jo_2:9; 1Jo_2:11; 1Jo_4:20;
1Jn 2:9  He who says he is in the light and hates his brother is in darkness until now.
1Jn 2:11  But he who hates his brother is in darkness, and walks in darkness, and does not know where he is going, because darkness has blinded his eyes.
1Jn 4:20  If anyone says, I love God, and hates his brother, he is a liar. For if he does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?

The wicked devoid of - 1Jo_3:10;
1Jn 3:10  In this the children of God are revealed, and the children of the Devil: everyone not practicing righteousness is not of God, also he who does not love his brother.

Rth 1:17  Where you die, I will die, and there I will be buried. May Jehovah do so to me, and more also, if anything but death parts you and me.

Jonathan, &c - 1Sa_20:17; 1Sa_20:41; 1Sa_20:42;
1Sa 20:17  And Jonathan caused David to swear again, because he loved him. For he loved him as he loved his own soul.
1Sa 20:41  As soon as the lad had gone, David rose from the south, and fell on his face to the ground, and bowed himself three times. And they kissed one another, and wept with one another, until David exceeded.
1Sa 20:42  And Jonathan said to David, Go in peace because we have both sworn in the name of Jehovah, saying, The Lord shall be between me and you, and between my seed and your seed, forever. And he rose and went away. And Jonathan went into the city.

Rom 16:4  who have laid down their own necks for my life; to whom not only I give thanks, but also the churches of the nations.

Paul - 2Co_6:11; 2Co_6:12;
2Co 6:11  O Corinthians, our mouth is opened to you, our heart has been enlarged.
2Co 6:12  You are not restrained in us, but you are restrained in your own affections.

Epaphroditus - Phi_2:25; Phi_2:26; Phi_2:30;

Php 2:26  For he longed after you all and was full of heaviness, because you had heard that he had been sick.
